Wakeeney Speedway

 

WaKeeney Speedway is a 3/8-mile, semi-banked dirt oval track located at the Trego County Fairgrounds, 116 N 13th St. The Speedway is on the east side of town - right off US Hwy 283.
 

The 2022 season will kick off June 18th with the High Plains Late Models.  Last year the ASCS National tour returned after a 20-year hiatus. This season the ASCS will return bigger and better with a 2 day National show over the fourth of July holiday weekend.  The season will continue to be full of excitement when the ASCS Elite Non-Wing sprint cars headline the show on July 15th during the Trego County Fair.  Partnering with "The Bullring" Rush County Speedway there will be a two day show of the NCRA Modified Division with the finale ending in Wakeeney on August 6th.
 

The Speedway will regularly feature the Hobby Stock, Sport Mod, Sport Compact, and the "Crazy Cruisers".

The Pits open 3 hours before start time, the Grandstands open 2 hours before start time, Check-In closes 1 hour before start time, Hot Laps start promptly 1 hour before start time, and Races usually start at 6:30 pm, unless otherwise noted.

The Steve King Foundation is a non-profit, tax deductible, 501(c)(3) charitable organization established for the purpose of helping the dirt track racing community. The foundation was established after the death of Steve King.

 

We provide assistance to race car drivers, pit crew members, racing officials and track operations personnel or the immediate families of those individuals who are involved in dirt track racing and are seriously ill, severely injured or killed.

 

The foundation will also contribute to organizations and facilities dedicated to improving the safety of the sport, when additional funds are available.
